Our Team
Adam Hamilton
Managing Director, Lead Financial Advisor
Adam is a Director at Baird and the senior Financial Advisor for The Hamilton Group. He uses a deep expertise in equity research and portfolio management to achieve his primary objective: to deliver clients an excellent risk-adjusted return and help them achieve their lifetime financial goals.
Adam’s formative experience as an advisor to high-net-worth investors during the 2008 financial crisis instilled in him the belief that clients dislike losing money more than they enjoy making it – an impression he subsequently learned had been confirmed by behavioral economics and finance research. This insight is fundamental to the approach The Hamilton Group takes in its management of client assets with which they have been entrusted.
Adam graduated from Pomona College with a degree in philosophy, politics and economics. He started his career in financial services with McAdams Wright Ragen in 1998 as an equity research analyst before shifting his focus to Internet and Technology companies. It was in this role that Adam witnessed the collapse of Technology growth stocks, whose strong performance had fueled the late-‘90s surge in stock prices – teaching him the importance of contrarian thinking as well as the benefits of patience and discipline when putting clients’ money to work.
A lifelong Seattleite, Adam currently resides in the city with his wife, three kids and dog, Lucy. When Adam is not working, he enjoys golfing, skiing, and watching his kids sporting events.

The Hamilton Group was founded by Dr. Glen Hamilton, who was a pioneer in the development of nuclear medicine in cardiology before embarking on a second simultaneous career as a stockbroker in the late 1970s. He devoted his mornings to the investment business and his afternoons to being a physician, until stepping back entirely from medicine in 1988. Glen was eventually joined in the investment business by his two sons, Robb & Adam, while he was with the Pacific NW regional firm Ragen MacKenzie (RMI), which was eventually acquired by Wells Fargo. The Hamilton's left RMI-Wells Fargo in 2008 to rejoin old colleagues at the ‘successor firm’ of McAdams Wright Ragen (MWR). Glen passed away in 2010, and his health troubles in the years prior to his death prevented him from officially joining MWR, but Adam and Robb were with the firm for roughly six years before the firm was acquired by Baird in April of 2014. While Robb retired from the business at the end of 2020, Adam continues to carry forward the family legacy in his role as Chief Investment Strategist & Portfolio Manager.
